I use a smaller plate and fill half of the plate with non-starchy veggies and fruit, 1/4 with protein, and 1/4 with a bread or starch.

Every single year since I was 12, my New Year’s resolution has been to eat healthier and exercise more. So, yes, I definitely change my habits on January 1.

During the holidays I watch the extra calories by doing “trade-offs”ie: I’ll have this but not not that, and then there is not too much to worry about after the season. I also now have the time to go walking again with friends and that is a real joy, a brisk walk and a girlfriend update!

Eating holiday leftovers late at night while watching a movie with my husband, after the kids have gone to bed is my downfall. I need to commit to a ‘no eating at night’ rule once the new year rings in.

I generally dont eat very much of anything in one meal so I do not end up gaining weight but if I do, i reduce portions and i also do yoga every day… not much of an aerobics person
