There is another big debate taking place this fall. Through October 12th visit PillsburyBaking.com to join the campaign and vote for which dessert you love best – cake or brownies! America’s favorite dessert will be announced on October 20th.
So take a minute to go vote, and then come right back here to win the fabulous prize package pictured above!
That’s right! One lucky visitor to Deal Seeking Mom will get their own Pillsbury Sweeter America Prize Pack. The prize includes a selection of Pillsbury baking products, including:
- Pillsbury Stars and Stripes Cake Mix and Frosting
- Brownie Mix
- Quick Bread
- Pillsbury Apron
- and a Pillsbury Doughboy Doll that giggles (not pictured)!!!
Overall in my house I’d have to say cake takes the cake! But there’s nothing I like better than an ooey-gooey, warm and chewy brownie fresh out of the oven with a big glass of milk. Mmm, having chocolate cravings just thinking about it!
Every reader has three methods available to enter this contest. Choose one each of any combination of method one, two, or three, for up to a total of 3 entries!!!
1. Leave a comment sharing how you voted and why! Make sure that I have some way to get in touch with you if you are the winner. (Either leave your email address in your comment or make sure I can access it from your profile.) Don’t worry, I won’t harvest your email addresses or use them for any purpose other than notifying you if you win.
2. Subscribe to my feed via RSS or email and leave a separate comment letting me know you have done so. If you’re already a subscriber, simply leave a separate comment letting me know you’re already subscribed. Lovin’ my subscribers! You guys make this all possible.
3. Spread the word about this contest in some manner and come back and leave a link in a separate comment. If you have a blog, you can blog about it. But if you don’t have a blog, you’re not at a disadvantage. You could review and Stumble it. You could Twitter it. You could post about it in a forum. Use your imagination!
It is important that you leave a separate comment for each type of entry because each comment is equal to one entry. Sorry to harp on this, but it really is that important to tally and select the winner easily, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Prize:
(1) Pillsbury Sweeter America Prize Pack as detailed above
This giveaway ends at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sunday, October 5th. I’ll use Random.org to generate a number that corresponds with the winning comment number and post the winner on Monday, October 6th. Good luck!

As much as I love cake, I just like brownies a little more, especially with cream cheese on them!
I’m definitely a cake kinda gal. Preferrably Devil’s Food with chocolate frosting. :)
I subscribed to your RSS feed through Bloglines.
I would have to say cake. We love piece of cake almost anytime of the day.
I voted brownies because my family loves them and would prefer them over cake. However cookies win over both!
I blogged about it here: http://awholelotofloving.blogspot.com/2008/10/giveaways.html
Hello! Would love to win, here is my first entry.

Brownies – can’t beat ‘em, especially with icing. YUM!

I’ve blogge about your giveaway.
Cake takes cake here too. But really, we love anything sweet. Muffins, bread, brownies. I voted cake and my favorite flavor is chocolate with chocolate icing!
I would have to say cake. I love to decorate them and now my 5 yr old loves to help me. And of course he loves to eat them after :)
hands down it would have to be brownies!!!! We love brownies!!!!!!

Brownies are my favorite and the Pillsbury website is a favorite too!! Thanks for the chance to win – we love Pillsbury because their products are safe for my son with allergies!!
I voted for brownie. You can bake them and pull them out of the oven and not even have to worry about frosting them.
Brownies win, hands down! And I must say that boxed brownies are better than any homemade ones I’ve had (and I like to make pretty much everything from scratch).
I like using olive oil with the brownies instead of veggie oil for an added health benefit (or at least, I tell myself their healthier and then consume most of the pan!)
Thanks for offering a prize!
Brownies are by far the best here! So many yummy kinds!
I voted cake. I am one of very few women who do not crave chocolate. Every now and then I will have some chocolate but a little bit will do.
I subscribe via google reader.
I voted for Brownies. I like the richness and thick texture. Yum! I’m hungry just writing this :)! Thanks for the giveaway!
I voted for cake, as that’s my favorite, although I probably bake brownies more often as it’s quicker and easier with two little boys and lots of playdates!
I subscribed to the newsletter and am very excited to start reading regularly!!
I had to vote for brownies. There is nothing like brownies fresh out of the oven with some ice-cream. Yum!!
I subscribed to your site via feed burner to my e-mail
Brownies always win around our house. I don’t like cake but LOVE frosting and my husband is the opposite so we do very well when I bake.
Kim
I looove the brownies! That way I can make sure “we all get some” even if someone (like myself) has to leave… and take my stash with me!
Makes for easy kids lunch dessert too.
Brownies, because store-bought cake frosting has trans fat!
Plus chocolately, chewy browniew are great :)
I voted for cakes. IN our house cake goes over better than brownies. The house favorite cake is my pumpkin spice cake with cream cheese frosting, it does not last long at all!!!!
Blogged about it HERE:

brownies, no cake, no, definately brownies. Hard to choose, they are all a hit here, but brownies take the cake. Thanks for the chance
We are a brownie loving family but cake also makes us go crazy.
I love Pillsbury. Cake is the definite winner in our house. Thanks for the giveaway!
Hi! I personally voted for brownies. We love all kinds of ooey gooey brownies. Fall is the perfect time for baking and we just made pumpkin cheesecake brownies they were delicious! Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
We voted for the brownies also. This time of year I bake a pan of brownies and cut out fun Halloween shapes with cookie cuters and frost them with cream cheese icing. Also if you are like everyone in our family and LOVE the corner peices then you can bake the brownies in cupcake tins!
I vote b/c I love both cake and brownies. Pretty hard to choose, but I decided I love the gooey chocolate brownies most!!!
Ooops… forgot to leave my e-mail addy: carrie_egg@yahoo.com
We’ve added this contest to ContestForMoms.com Thanks for the great giveaway! We love brownies here!
I voted for the cake because it is reduced sugar.
I will NOT deny I love both but brownies are a lot less work and super yummy when they are warm from the oven. With brownies I don’t have my kids arguing over which flavor of cake (daughter is a chocoholic wonder where she gets it from and son is a vanilla cake lover) and which of frosting.
I have 2 huge brownie lovers in my house….plus..being 7 1/2 months pregnant…I can’t seem to get enough of them myself….. Pour a few handfulls of chopped walnuts on top…and we are good to go!!!
Definitely brownies!! I love chewy chocolate!
Brownies!! Chocolate fudge….yum!!!
I defintely voted brownies. We don’t have to wait for them to cool to icing.
I subcribed to your blog via email!
I LOVE brownies . . .I think mostly because my husband hates chocolate! So, when I get them, they’re ALL mine!
I added your RSS feed, too!
