Has anyone gotten the CoinStar rebate yet? Or know about when they will be sending them out? I mailed in my form (from the printed Coinstar change machine receipt) back on 11/18/09, so its getting close to 6 weeks.

I used part of my Amazon gift card to make a purchase and the balance was waiting for me the next time I placed an order.

Don't use One Click to buy something though. You have to use the shopping cart so you'll have a chance to enter your code

Not all machines even have the gc option. In fact, there's only one machine in my area that gives me that option at all. All the other machines around here only give me the cash option... change for cash... minus their big piece of the pie, of course! lol

The CoinStar website shows lots of stores to choose from for the gift cards, but all stores are NOT available at every machine. I wanted to exchange my change for a CVS gift card and get the additional $10 card, but the machine had only 9 stores to choose from and CVS wasn't one of them. I wonder if the machines have a limit of 9 options since they use the numbers 1 thru 9 on the digital keypad? Anyway, it's a good idea to have 2nd and 3rd choices in case your first choice is not available.

Sorry for all the multiple posts. I was reading the CoinStar website and they offer CVS gift cards! YowZah!! A $40 CVS GC is like a $100 in cash if you use it correctly. I may just have to do this if it will ever stop raining. Thanks again for the tip

Also, if you get a gift certificate there is no charge for pouring your money into the machine. If you get cash then they charge you a fee on the dollar

I was considering actually withdrawing money from the bank for this deal. I am hesitant though. Here's what I'm considering

If I was going to buy something from one of the participating stores anyway, say Amazon, then this would be great because I wouldn't lose anything except the time it takes to pump the money into the machine. I would want to recieve my gift card right away.

However, I would want to make sure that I am doing this with one of the advanced machines that either has the peelie on the machine (as the coinstar website says) or would print out the coupon at the end so I could mail it off.

Has anyone dealt with CoinStar about rebates? Are they dependable? Or do they take their own sweet time and six months later you get a rejection notice?

So that's basically it's earning you about 5 bucks after fee's unless you go to Starbuck, JCPenny, etc a lot.
I was debating on the "withdrawing money from my account" for this deal, but it's not quite sweet enough for me.

I think it's 8 or 9 cents on the dollar? Too much for my blood, that's for sure! Only one of the Coinstars in my town offer e-certificates for some reason, thankfully the one that's closest to me! :D

It looks like if you have an advanced machine it will give you a gift card on the spot!!! Then on your receipt it will print out the form for the extra $10 to send in. The locator was having problems for me but when I used the one on the home page where you put in your zip it worked. ThanksTara for all the deals!!

A question--when you get a gift card, do you get it right away or do you have to wait for it to come in the mail? I don't mean the bonus gift card but the regular every day gift card?
thanks

It would almost be worth it to go to the bank, get $40 in change and run it through the machine. Thanks for the tip
