was there an amount that’s required for this to work? I can see that it appears to be attempting to apply the coupon, but there is no discount given.

THANKS! ☺

2 Tara Kuczykowski October 14, 2009 at 3:16 pm

Tonya, it sounds like maybe you’re adding the kit to your cart, and I don’t think you need to do that. The code will automatically add it at no charge.

3 Tonya October 14, 2009 at 3:40 pm

ha!! that’s EXACTLY what I was doing.. I’ve never it seen it work this way before. This is an AWESOME deal, THANKS!!! ☺

4 Amy October 14, 2009 at 3:51 pm

Shipping is $6.95 so this was a deal killer for me. There is a code TOOSHP for $2 shipping, but they can’t be combined. Bummer!

5 Hilary L October 14, 2009 at 4:00 pm

it’s not free since your paying such a huge amount for shipping. even with buying a $1 item they charge $6.95 for shipping, thats not free.

6 Anna October 14, 2009 at 4:00 pm

Thanks Tara for the post – I just ordered a tweezer & lip gloss for $6 plus s/h! Not bad for a FREE 27 pc Make up kit! :)

*A gift for Myself for saving $$$ thru your webpage, with all these great coupon offers!

7 Jennifer October 14, 2009 at 4:02 pm

Amy’s right, 7.95 total for something free? no thanks

8 cheryl October 14, 2009 at 4:08 pm

wow I am picking up 2 sets of lashes. lol I could never imagined this would work. lol So for a total of $895 I am getting the mini train case of make up and 2 set of lashes. WOW can you get it more then 1? The sale runs for a few weeks so can you place an order then place another and get one on each order?

9 cheryl October 14, 2009 at 4:09 pm

I have the mineral make up from elf and I love it and the studio brushes are great.

10 Tara Kuczykowski October 14, 2009 at 4:12 pm

It’s actually a better deal if you’re not looking to just purchase a single item because the shipping is a flat rate. Like I said, they have some great stocking stuffers! My girls love the lip balm tins.

Also, if you spend $25 you quality for a free Working Mother subscription, or you can decline the subscription and get a $9.99 rebate.

Cheryl, I would think every order qualifies, so I don’t see why you couldn’t purchase several orders over the next month.

11 maria October 14, 2009 at 4:15 pm

I have this set as well, and it’s really nice!!! Well worth whatever you pay for shipping since it has everything you need and then some!

12 KC October 14, 2009 at 4:36 pm

I agree it is more worth i if you order more stuff because it is a flat S&H Fee. I love their brushes, lip gloss and their makeup bags. Great xmas gifts!

13 Charisse October 14, 2009 at 4:57 pm

I love their brushes and they are cheap…

14 Jill October 14, 2009 at 7:21 pm

I think even at $7.95 (if you were to get a $1.00 item) this is an awesome deal for a gift or to add to a gift basket or something. If you have young girls on your Christmas gift list you can add a few $1.00 items to it and you get off at less than $35! IMHO, I think that’s a steal these days.

If you’re going to do the deal twice to get two free kits, I would get some extras to make it worth it. On the first deal I would get it to $25 and refuse the magazine subscription and get the $9.99 rebate that Tara mentioned. So, it’s $25 worth of “stuff” PLUS the free kit for $22 ($15+ $6.95 shipping) after rebate. It would normally be $32 ($25+$6.95 shipping).

THEN, I would do the second deal for a $1.00 item. So you’re paying $7.95 for the one item and the free kit or “rinse and repeat” and get two awesome deals.

If you’re going to do the deal twice with just a $1.00 item on each you end up spending $16.

It works in my head anyway. =)

hmmm…. still waiting for my rebate from the last promotion! I’m a little skeptical I’ll receive it based on the wording of the “rebate”…

16 lisa October 14, 2009 at 9:12 pm

I thought it was a great deal! I ordered a nail polish for $1.00 which you can barely get any good nail polish anywhere for $1.00 even after coupons. So I ended up paying $7.95 i think that is a great deal especially since i have a 15yr old niece that loves makeup. A great gift for $8.00 Thanks for all you do!

17 Kristen October 15, 2009 at 12:47 am

that IS a great deal! Thanks Tara for finding all these things for us. I certainly appreciate it, I wish others would too! And yes, $7 is not bad for a great kit and some make-up, I can’t wait :-)

18 mari October 15, 2009 at 4:55 pm

i would like to know how u could order another time?it telling me i have reached the number of times for this coupon.

19 Diane October 15, 2009 at 5:26 pm

Also, if you use Ebates you bet 4% cash back!

20 lynn October 15, 2009 at 11:19 pm

All this make up is made in China, so who really knows what you are getting in this “free” deal.

21 Jen October 15, 2009 at 11:36 pm

Geeze, folks. Do you know how expensive make-up is these days? I would happily spend $6.95 on shipping in order to get a slew of $1 items. That’s nothing. Thanks so much for this coupon code. I just placed an order and can’t wait to receive it. I’ve needed make-up for some time now but haven’t had the stomach to buy it in the stores. I just spent $24 on the ELF site (including shipping), and those items would’ve cost me at least $75 in a store.

22 Jen October 15, 2009 at 11:40 pm

Lynn…a lot of things we use is made in China. Not sure why that’s a reason not to try this make up. If you stopped using all Chinese made items, your house would practically be empty.

23 Ashley October 15, 2009 at 11:56 pm

Didn’t your mothers tell you if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all?!

24 Ashley October 15, 2009 at 11:56 pm

p.s. THANK YOU , Tara, for all you do!!

25 Somie October 16, 2009 at 12:47 am

How come I’ve never known about this make-up website? Everything on this website seems to be great quality (from reviews) and great pricing. I really don’t care if I have to pay a measly $7.00 for shipping, if you can get make-up for a $1 it’s worth it! I might have to say good-bye to Sephora.

26 Diane October 16, 2009 at 10:49 am

The lip gloss’ are nice, can’t beat it for $1! I am going to place an order as these will make great stocking stuffers for my girls! And I get something too!

27 Melissa October 16, 2009 at 5:57 pm

Just so people know, ELF is touch and go quality wise. I submitted reviews and they edit out ANY problems you mention with your products. I ordered a makeup brush from the studio line, and it came in two halves because the glue failed.
Their concealers and 1 dollar makeup items are absolutely awful cheap crap. Orange colors, badly pigmented. You really do get what you pay for. It’s great play makeup for a little girl, but don’t expect it to be anything amazing.
This deal is a “deal” in that at least you don’t have to pay their full price for subpar makeup.

28 JP October 17, 2009 at 10:56 am

I have to agree wtih melissa. The only things that have worked for me from this website are the eyebrow brush from the studio line and *some* of the sparkle/mineral eye makeup pots. Some of the other makeup is of very cheap quality (like their blush sticks or lipgloss pots).

29 Jennifer C. October 18, 2009 at 10:38 am

You do get what you pay for but I think this is a perfect gift for my little girl who loves makeup!

30 Kara October 18, 2009 at 8:33 pm

I CANT GET THE CODE TO WORK…I TIRED ADDIGN THE KIT TO MY ORDER AND TAKING IT OFF..IT SHOWS THE COUPON WORKING BUT MY TOTAL STAYS THE SAME….HMMMM

31 Chrisy October 18, 2009 at 11:14 pm

The code still works. I had two items in my shopping bag and went to enter the code. It doesn’t add the item picture but my shopping bag changed to three items and right under the subtotal it added the following: Free Mini Makeup Collection! (# 85002).

32 A Frugal Chick October 19, 2009 at 2:31 pm

Don’t forget that ebates gives 4% cash back on purchases on E.L.F. as well!

33 TJ October 23, 2009 at 3:20 am

E.l.f. does have some products that are not the same quality as MAC or Stila or others, but not everything from the “top” line items are all that great. I would rather pay a dollar to see if a particular color looks good on me than $25.00 online or in the department stores. Anytime I have had issues with e.l.f’s products, I send it back. The last time I sent back an item I received a box of fifteen various items along with a gift card and a letter apologizing for my disappointment. You would be hard presses to get THAT kind of customer service from a lot of companies.

I love their Studio and mineral lines. These are of a much better quality than their dollar items. Their items are also sold at Target, Kmart and some Wal-Marts. They also have a line called “Sugar” that is for the little girl set with lots of bright colors and sparkles. Another thing I love about e.l.f. is that they don’t test on animals.
