Nice job on your first vlog! It is a timely tip for me, and I am thrilled to learn that stage 1 and stage 2 are the same. We are making most of our baby food, but I love to buy the Gerber organic also–it is easier when we are on the go!

another good saving tip..make your own babyfood.its better and cheaper for you…and soooo easy…
i often buy fruit or vegi that are marked down..(to ripe, bruised or grapes off the vine)..i buy a big basket full of them for 2 dollars..when i have to much i put them in ice cube trays mark them and freeze it..so i have a great mix…and so much healthier than the jars…and way,way cheaper..

A really great tip, it’s amazing how much they mark up those smaller packaged items. Even better (for the environment and the wallet)than a ziploc bag though would be a reusable container, have you seen some of the adorable ones they make for japanese bento boxes?

Your kitchen looks fabulous, and I love that magnetic spice rack thing!

I got some of the Cheerioes small handy container. I bought it once and then I just refilled it in the diaper bag after buying the big box. Great tips!

We also buy Mott’s Healthy Harvest and Plus applesauce. Although it only comes in the convenience cups, it does provide those additional fruit flavors – blueberry, peach, country berry, etc. – for much less than a jar of baby food!

Wonderful vlog! I wish I could listen to it (no sound on my old klunker of a desktop) but you look fabulous. Love the tip on using scissors for cutting up peaches (hey, I got alot out of watching even though I couldn’t hear ya talkin’!) Are you sure you aren’t a pro at creating videos? Can’t wait to watch more!

Tara – great vlog! With our youngest son (#3), he rarely gets any of that pre-packaged stuff since I’ve finally caught on (it only took two other children for me to get it). But, I will say when we went on vacation I picked up some of the graduates meals and they really are convenient – not cheap enough for me to buy for the convenience though.

A way to save even more on baby and toddler food (and a MUCH healthier way to feed them) is to use FRESH foods! Stick a REAL sweet potato in the microwave and mash it up, or grind up a fresh peach.

That video vlog thingy is soo cool! My daughter never ate baby food! When she was ready, I went out and bought tons of it sooo excited to see her reaction! It wasn’t a great one either! We ended up feeding her what we eat, but we threw her’s in the food processer and blended it all up! That to me ended up being a huge money saver!!

What a great reminder to pay attention to serving sizes!! Awesome video. I would also add that I bought the big jars of all natural applesauce rather than the baby food applesauce… BIG price difference!
