How does an extra $50 to stretch your Christmas budget sound?
I know for many of us it would be a true blessing right now. Well, you’re in luck, because I’ve got one $50 Walmart gift card up for grabs today that will arrive just in time to do some Christmas shopping!
So how can you win this?
If you’re anything like me, I’m sure if you won this $50 GC, you’d end up spending it on anyone BUT yourself. So just for a minute I’d like you to pretend that you have no other obligations and can use this money to buy yourself a little something special. I think as mom we often overlook treating ourselves, so I’d like to hear what you’d buy if you were the winner. Resources for ideas are the Walmart website and the 2008 Holiday Entertaining Guide. Of course, if you’re the winner you can use the gift certificate to purchase anything you want.
Every reader has four methods available to enter this contest. Choose one each of any combination of method one, two, three, or four, for up to a total of 4 entries!!!
1. Leave a comment sharing what you would purchase if you were to spend the money on yourself only!
2. Take just 2 seconds to click over to The Coupon Cupboard to vote for Deal Seeking Mom as your favorite deals blog. Make sure to come back and leave a separate comment letting me know you voted! (This option is only available through Sunday, November 23rd, at 8:00 p.m., EST.)
3. Subscribe to my feed via RSS or email and leave a separate comment letting me know you have done so. If you’re already a subscriber, simply leave a separate comment letting me know you’re already subscribed. Lovin’ my subscribers! You guys make this all possible.
4. Spread the word about this contest in some manner and come back and leave a link in a separate comment. If you have a blog, you can blog about it. I would buy pajamas for myself. They seem so indulgent to me. That’s probably my frugalness that says just sleep in a t-shirt. But pajamas can make you feel sexy or cozy or whatever mood you want that evening.

I would buy myself something pretty. Not something that matches with ten other things in my closet, but something pretty that only matches one other thing, like a pretty sweater, top or a really bright scarf. I would buy some much needed underware. All mine are old and getting holy. secondly i would buy new clothes, After lossing lots of weight none of my old clothes fit me, and i’d rather buy the kids stuff instead of my own.

I would buy me some pampering items. New candles, sweet smelling bath oil, new shampoo, and a box of chocolates (saturday 29th is my b-day). I’d go home and lock myself in the bath room, turn on a nice CD and soak in a hot tub. True bliss.

If I could spend the money on myself, I would probably replace one of the many tops that I own that have stains on them. It seems lately every time I put something on, I notice a stain. I am going to have to do a better job at checking for stain BEFORE putting them in the wash.

I would probably use it for one of two things:
1. $50 in a gift card would help me justify the cost of buying the small sewing machine I saw there to try my hand at making clothes - a hobby I have been wanting to try that makes my family kind of snicker and shake their heads… ~OR~
2. I would buy myself a couple of sleeve T shirts (at least one of them the bright orange I am loving lately) and some coordinating leggings with fun socks (preferably with toes!) for some new “comfy and warm PJs” South Florida style

I can not begin to tell you how long it has been since the last time I bought myself anything. If I were in the land of make believe I would use it to buy the prettiest pair of matching bra & panties I could find. I think I would buy me some much needed clothes. I seem to wear just sweat shirts and tees during the winter. The other day, I went to church wearing a sweatshirt I have had for 14 years. It still is in good shape, but I guess it would be about time to buy me a new one.

I don’t even have to go to the walmart website to know what I’d buy. Last time I was at Wal-mart I saw some rectangular white serving plates of various sizes. They were beautiful and I would love to have them, but they were over $10 for each tray and I just couldn’t do it. I dream of having them in time for my baby shower, but I didn’t even put them on my Christmas list because of all the other stuff I need. If I win, I’m going to treat myself!

Haha - I’d probably save it till the week after Christmas when everything goes on like 90% clearance, then stock up on things for either a garage sale, or just Christmas decor for next year…or I’d just buy groceries…for me, of course ;)

I would buy new stuff for my bath room. Shower Rod and Curtain, a few nice hand towels and a pretty soup dispenser. In my house of all males something like this would mean a lot to me…lol! How well it would be cared for by them I am not sure but it would look nice for awhile, right. :o)
