Hahaha the “manager” that commented it’s too funny … I called rite aid to complainabout my recent TRIPS where I was told I was stealing…. The cs rep. “William” faxed me the copy while on the phone but my fax was out of ink… Soo he said Its on our website which I replied that it wasn’t! And he SENT ME here!!!!!!!lmfao he said “I’m looking at the some one from our internal documents.”…
Next day I received a called from the store manager (same one who called md a thief but he denied it to me) and he apologized and said not to call cs next time … Yeah right!

Question about the video value coupons…am I only suppose to print one copy? When I completed all my videos, the print set up asked how many copies I want to print out. So I assume we can print out more than one since it gave an option right? But today I was told by my rite-aid store that each customer only suppose to use one coupon…just want to clarify!

Would anyone mind copying and pasting the policy into an email for me? The pdf file won’t open for me so I can print the policy and take it to my rite aid. One rite aid wouldn’t let me use the covergirl bogo coupon last week and another rite aid right down the road let me use 2 of them to get 4 items for FREE. The one RA treats me like a criminal and checking out takes 30 min with a HUGE line behind me all waiting and annoyed that I am using coupons that the cashier is argueing with me about it. I simply don’t buy the items that they refuse my coupon because I know I am right and they are just pissy. Then they have to do a void and call a manager to do that and it takes forever and is really embarassing. The other RA near me is super friendly and even tapes coupons to the shelves for the items above them. I don’t know why I even use the other one except it is a half mile closer. 1 Vv coupon + manufacturer coupon + in-Ad coupon for one item ?
it states i can use one manufacturer coupon and one riteaid … but in the case of in-ad coupon i can use an in-ad coupon along with a manufacturer … SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CONFUSING!

SO glad you have this! Rite Aid just gave me the run through tonight on a BOGO Cover Girl sale with a BOGO coupon and they told me I was scamming them! A friend pointed me to this link and I’m printing it out and taking it back.

I was given this information directly from the Rite Aid Public Relations Department. In fact, I did not even have to solicit it. They contacted me with it and have continued to keep in touch with updates and sale information.

I’d suggest that you get in touch with them because your store appears to have not received the updated policy. The $5 limit has not been imposed for nearly six months now.

i am a rite aid manager and this policy is not from Rite Aid. Please go to the rite aid site or call a store for the actual policy. the actual policy is 2 pages long, due to people photocopying one time video value and other coupons off receipts. Also, there is a 5.00 limit period on rite aid coupons in a transaction. Just because someone can type up a letter and place a letterhead on it does not mean you can come into a store and wave it at us. We have all the info and will be glad to show it to you.

Yeah, I should’ve just walked out without making the purchase. But I didn’t want to completely miss out on the Huggies sale, even if they would not let me use the $1 off adperk coupons. I need to find out when my favorite manager works. She always says with enthusiasm, “I’ll take the coupon lady.” She is always very willing to help me get the best deal. I guess she actually understands that using coupons aren’t a criminal act. The manager I dealt with on Friday kept repeating that their store was restricting coupon use because they have been getting a lot of fraudulent ones. Since I am just about the only shopper that uses so many coupons (the store manager said this to me), I can only feel like they are targeting me with that comment. Hopefully I hear back from corporate soon. I might even see if they will do a post-coupon refund for me.

I really hate reading about the terrible experiences in the coupon area of shopping at Rite Aid. I am an Assistant Manager at one of them and we never have problems with coupons. The one time that we did was when a lady was buying some candy bars that were BOGOF and she had a coupon that stated the same and she was told she couldn’t use a BOGOF coupon on a BOGOF item. That, however, is false. We have our updated coupon policy taped at all of our registers as reminders, but since all of the girls at my store are huge coupon fanatics (thanks to me :) ) we are all very aware and patient with everyone that comes in. In fact, we look forward to Sunday mornings when our regulars come in because we are anxious to see if they caught some sale w/ coupons that we missed, lol. I hope all of you have better experiences in the future.

I had a very annoying transaction at my Rite Aid tonight. Below is the email I just sent to Rite Aid customer service. The manager on duty would only let me use ONE internet coupon per transaction. She said the RA Video Value coupon was printed, so she only let me use the $5/$20 and refused the $1 off huggies VV coupon. I even showed her the coupon policy, but she just referred to their store policy posted at the register (obviously outdated). I am so mad! Sometimes I think they see me coming a mile away and think of ways to make my life difficult.
Anyways… here is my email. Hopefully I hear back soon.

“I am a regular Rite Aid shopper (I usually shop there 1-3x per week). I normally leave happy, however tonight I was less than pleased with my experience. I am an avid coupon user. I spend a considerable amount of time matching weekly deals with manufacturer coupons and Rite Aid video value and store coupons. Usually I complete my purchases with my coupons without a hitch. However, the manager that was on duty tonight (she has given me problems before) treated me like a criminal. Your policy states that I can use internet printable coupons (one per item as long as each one does not exceed $5) or clipped coupons along with Rite Aid coupons (one each per item). I was told my the female manager that was working that they would only accept one internet coupon per transaction. I had wanted to use my $5/20 Rite Aid video values coupon along with $1 off Huggies video value coupon for this particular transaction. She REFUSED to accept both. She said the video values coupon was an internet printed coupon and she would only accept ONE for the entire transaction. I have never had a problem with this before. I am very familiar with your coupon policy, and I did try to reason with her.. but she insisted. She referred to the store coupon policy posted at the register (which I understand to be outdated). Please confirm what the proper procedure should have been. I would hate to have to take my business elsewhere as I really do love shopping with you.

I was worried about the same thing happening with the Cover Girl B1G1 coupon, so I asked a cashier before I even started shopping. She said the free one would be the half price one, not the full price one. I think it depends on your cashier/store. I decided not to do the CoverGirl deal based on that info. Someone emailed corporate about this and the response was that you can’t use a B1G1 coupon on a B1G150% sale, but that doesn’t sound right at all (http://www.weusecoupons.com/upload/riteaid-eckerd/46610-quick-question-about-cover-girl-2.html). It seems to just depend on the store, so I’m going to make a habit of asking first in the future before spending any time picking out my items if it’s a questionable transaction. It’s important to me to get a good deal, but it’s just as important (if not more) to make sure I can show my face in the store again without getting the stink-eye (so I can get the next good deal)!

The coupon policy is crystal clear about the $5/$25 coupons. They are supposed to come off BEFORE any other coupons, manufacturer or otherwise. So if the total price before any coupons are taken off is $25 or more, you should get $5 off. Print out the coupon policy above and show them next time. If that doesn’t work, don’t buy anything, go home, and email corporate for a clarification. I did that with my issue (above – wouldn’t accept Video Values coupons with any other coupons) and got a very prompt response via email from corporate, plus a call from the store in question. The manager apologized, said she’d educate her staff better, and said she hoped I’d shop at Rite Aid again.

I was made to feel like a criminal today at my Rite-Aid and would like an experienced couponer to clarify things for me. First, the store manager said that in the future any $5/$25 coupons had to be used before any manufacturers coupons but this was not how I understood this policy.

The other point of contention was the Cover Girl B1G1 coupon from this weekends papers. It didn’t say B1G1 of equal or lesser but she made me feel as if I were stealing by getting a $15 item free and paying for a $6 (at the half off price of $3). Isn’t that what we are supposed to do to maximize our coupons?
I am relatively new to couponing so thanks for your help!

I had the problem with stacking manufacturer coupons with Video Values coupons. The checker (who has given me trouble before and I will avoid in the future) was reading the fine print on each of my coupons and rejected the VV coupons because they say, “cannot be combined with any other offer”. I only had 6 items and had already been waiting 10 minutes while he pored over the coupons and checked each item in the bag. He said they’ve tightened up their coupon policy because of fraud. I’m not sure how to respond to that when the policy doesn’t address video values coupons and the coupon says it can’t be combined. I ended up leaving without making a purchase.

Priya-

Limit one per purchase means one coupon per item. Each item is a purchase. If you are buying 10 packs of huggies, you are making 10 purchases. The coupon is just saying you can’t use more than one manufacturer coupon per ITEM.

You may combine your video values with your manufacturer coupon.

If you have another problem, tell them you will be glad to wait while they put corporate on the phone.

As mentioned above by Amanda , I had the same problem today. They would not stack teh manufacturer coupon and RA video value coupon.They said its printed manufacturer coupon on the video value coupon and so we cant stack it . I also had another issue. I bought 2 packs of Huggies and I gave him 2 $2 manufacturer coupons which I got from coupons.com.He says the fine print reads Limit one per purchase so they refused to take 2 manufacturer coupons on the 2 packs of Huggies I bought . So finally he took one $2 manufacturer coupon and one $1 RA video value coupon …Can you let me know wat i should do .Did I make a mistake in understanding how to use coupons …Please advise…

Amanda, here is some information from Rite Aid corporate:

TEXT FROM ATTACHED POLICY: “Only one manufacturer coupon is accepted for each product, unless coupled with another manufacturer coupon found in a Rite Aid circular.”

Q:What about combining a manufacturer’s coupon with a Rite Aid coupon printed online? (for example, the video values coupons) I thought you could always combine a regular manufacturer’s coupon with any rite aid coupon (as long as the barcode starts with “RC,” but the policy only mentions circular coupons.

A: The video values coupons are considered Rite Aid coupons and, thus, may be combined as you propose.

I was at Rite Aid today and the manager insisted that the RA Video Values coupons are considered manufacturer coupons and not Rite Aid coupons, and therefore would not allow me to stack them with other coupons. I have poured over their coupon policy and cannot find a description of what Rite Aid consideres to be a RA coupon. I need to something to show the manager. Is there something out there detailing this?

I am just now joining and have some comments on posts from a while back. If you return an item after the purchase has already been completed and you used a coupon, the coupon can not be taken out of the drawer and returned to you because it is already logged into the register and they give it back to you it will show on their reconciliation papers that they are short in coupons. The refund amount would be the total amount that the item rang up, not what you paid out of pocket for the purchase. EX: Item scans on sale for $3.99 but you have a $1.00 coupon. You decide even right after the drawer has opened that you dont want it, this is already logged, the return is done for $3.99. If you change your mind, however, in the middle of the purchase and the sale is voided.. this coupon is NOT logged into the register and it is returned to you. Also, on the Rite Aid coupons from their AdPerks, you CAN use that coupon plus a manufacturers coupon. And if you have a coupon that is more than the amount of the item, it is simply added in manually as a manufacturers coupon through the register, not scanned. Hope this clarifies a couple of issues and I hope your experiences get better!

Good info. My Rite-Aid won’t accept internet coupons at all. Apparently they need to be educated about their own policies. One of these days when I’m up for an argument, I’ll have to give them a lesson on their own coupon “rules.”

The other day at a local Rite Aid I tried to buy several packs of Trident Layers Gum with several internet coupons. The clerk and manager pointed to the posted coupon policy which stated you may only use one internet coupon per transaction. I need clarification.

This policy is helpful but it does not address the question that I encountered. I had manufacturer coupons for an item. I also had an RiteAid/manufacturer coupon for $5/2 (had the RiteAid logo and said manufacturer coupon on it). I was told by the clerk that I could only use one manufacturer coupon per item. Yet the $5/2 was a c0-branded coupon from the RiteAid AdPerks site. This policy not address this area. I have heard form others that they have been able to use both sets of coupons.

Thank you Rite Aid! I much prefer shopping with your stores than the local Walgreens anyway so this just seals the deal more for me to continue to shop at your stores and ditch your competitors.
