The hustle and bustle of the holiday season has really been taking its toll lately.
As you can imagine, I don’t get a whole lot of “me” time as a mom of five, so I’ve learned to work in short bursts of relaxation when I can throughout the day to prevent myself from being overwhelmed by everything.
One of my favorite methods for relaxation lately is just taking a few minutes to listen to Seal’s latest CD, Soul. I close my eyes and just become one with the music, and after about 15 minutes I’ve regained most of my sanity and am ready to tackle life head on again.
Soul features eleven classic soul songs, and I truly feel like there’s something here for everyone. If you’d like to hear a taste, just check out the widget in my sidebar!
One lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader will win a copy of Soul so he or she can kick back and relax a little, and as an added bonus, you’ll receive these great little Lego iPod speakers from Delight.com. (I’m so jealous of these – I think they’re just adorable!)

If you’re not familiar with Delight.com:
Think of Delight.com as a unique boutique that stocks the perfect gift for everyone on your list. Delight features eco-friendly tote bags, gadgets for guys, kitchen gear that is smart and saves time, travel essentials, one-of-a-kind baby gifts, stocking stuffers for holiday gift shopping and unique jewelry and décor accessories with most under $50.
So tell me how do you unwind after a rough day? Can you tell when you haven’t been taking enough time for yourself? How have your learned to make time? I know I struggle with this, so I would assume a lot of you do as well, and I’m looking forward to you sharing your tips.

I hit the gym. Even just 20 minutes of cardio work is great at helping me unwind. And if it’s Monday or Thursday, I try to get to the cardio kickboxing class. I’ve been known to call that “percussive therapy”. Punching and hitting a bag is a great way to deal with whatever frustrations and stress has been getting to me.
I like to unwind by first starting with a hot bath. Then put my snuggie clothes on. Light aroma therapy candles. Sit by the fireplace sipping a glass of wine while listening to some soft music. Gee, I am getting relaxed just thinking about it. I love Seals music. Thank you for hosting this giveaway.
I like to read a magazine or good book.

My favorite thing to do after I put my son to bed is put on my pj’s, get in bed and read the newspaper and then a chapter in the current book Im reading – puts me right to sleep! :) I would love to add listening to Seal’s new album to my list – he was AWESOME on Eli Stone last week!
My favorite way to unwind depends on the season, as I live in Ohio. If it’s winter, I love to take 20 minutes to just sit and watch the fireplace, usually with a nice glass of wine or a cold beer.In the summer, I love to sit out by the pool with a fruity summery drink and just enjoy nature.
i made sure my kids had an early bedtime (8p) so that i could unwind for a couple hours after they were asleep. i sometimes called my neighbor and she and i would go to kohl’s after the kiddos were asleep and hubby’s would be watching tv. we’d try out different face products and come home refreshed. our hubby’s would then take a night for themselves and watch a movie together.

As a preschool teacher with a class of 20 three year olds I do come home and have to unwind! :) If it was an easy day I just make a cup of herbal tea and relax with my book. If the day was stressful…that’s when I put on my ipod and hop on my treadmill to work it off! I always feel so much better after about a half hour of brisk walking.
Besides my own kids, I run a daycare from my home so I always have lots of little ones everyday. After everyone leaves for the day, I make myself a nice mug of flavored coffee…my one indulgence for myself!!…sit down for about 15-25 minutes, put on my IPod, and read a magazine or read a chapter in whatever book I happen to be trying to finish!! After I have my coffee I’m good to go for the rest of the evening and for whatever else is in store for me!!
I make a cup of Chai Tea, I light my gas fireplace, I call my cat over to the sofa, and I sit and watch the fire and sip tea, while my cat purrs. It instantly relieves me of stress.
Classical music, a good book and a back rub!!!
After a stressful day at work I love to stop at Walgreens and get a good deal! Finding a rebate item or getting something for a great price with coupons makes the day all better! Then when I get home, I hug the kitties and take a long hot soak in the tub.
One way I unwind is reading though some favorite websites!

To unwind I like to just take a few minutes to work on my Bible Study. This really helps me remember what life is all about. When I can’t take a minute without the little ones I try to snuggle with one of them. I have been very blessed with two cuddly boys. Sometimes just a hug from one of them makes my day.
I curl up in bed with a good book!
I like to have a nice, hot bath to relax me and then I get my pjs on and crawl into bed with a good book.
I love to pour a glass of wine or make a cup of hot chocolate and curl up on the couch with a good book. I do this almost nightly and it really helps me unwind. When I don’t take time to unwind, I do not sleep as well.
I have added you to my blogroll. I love all your helpful tips. I think I will go add your button too!

I like to indulge in a cup of hot cocoa (the real stuff, not instant), and relax on the sofa with a good book. Thanks for the chance to win!
I have found that the best way for me to unwind is to take the dog out for a walk and maybe to the dog park. They are so funny and undemanding. By the time I’m done I always feel better
A long hot shower works for me. Then off to relax in bed. :)
A glass of wine and no husband or children!

My current favorite way to relax is to put on my Fireplace Christmas DVD (you know, the DVD of a crackling fire with Christmas piano music playing) and flip through a magazine or read a book. That DVD even works on my rambunctious nieces & nephews!

Crocheting – I just learned and I am 31 years old, at first I felt like an old lady but everyone including the teenagers think it’s cool and want me to crochet them a hat or scraf. I usually put on a repeat show I like and listen to it and crochet. Oh and the most important part, I change into my sweats. My little puppy Chloe climbs on the couch and curls up besides me. And my husband usually leaves me alone to when I am crocheting. I am also a hot bath kinda gal.
My mother LOVES SEAL! And she has been wanting the new CD.
Hot bubble bath, glass of wine and if I can’t do these , I cuddle up in a huge blanket and close my eyes with music playing in my ears.
I love to read a book to relax.
I unwind during the late afternoon. I became addicted to General Hospital when I was pregnant with my son. I normally try to complete my work by that time of the afternoon, have my son down for his nap and I eat lunch and normally a sweet treat while watching GH. It’s just me time.
I like to relax with a hot shower, then light some candles have a good cup of coffee and chill with my hubby.
With ll children I would go to my office for a five minute break…
My office…the bathroom and just breathe. Five minute mediatation breaks.

Just coming home and changing into my comfortable clothes takes me half way there. Putting on my iPod shuffle and listening to good music and fixing myself something to eat and drink usually takes me the rest of the way there.
When I’ve had a rough day, I spend a couple of hours alone. I play on my computer and then watch Regis and the View, which have both been Tivo’d. Thanks for the giveaway!
I love to sit on the couch and read. If I can’t do that though, even music in the background of my activity is vital to me.
I added your button to my blog.
Well I was and am a mother of 6 all grown. i dealt with stress by talking on the phone with my best friend who also had a house full of children. just knowing someone else was going thu what i was was a big help. we didn’t have blogs back then
I put on my Donny Osmond Christmas CD (I know it’s corny!) very LOUD and just laugh, dance and clean the house – it’s a riot.
I love to light a fire, grab a cup of spice tea and read a good book, or watch a show on HGTV! This only works at night after the kids are all in bed. I love it!
Tamra´s last blog post..how do you do it?
I make sure to set aside at least30 minutes for myself every night. This keeps me in a good mood which in resault everyone else in a good mood. During this 30 minutes I do what ever I want sometimes I take a bath sometimes I paint my toes. It doesn’t really matter what I’m doing it just matters that I have 30 minutes to myself to unwind.
Drinking coffee and watching a foreign film from netlfix is my ultimate way to unwind.
I relax with a hot bubble bath.
