It’s really sad to hear that people would abuse coupons in that manner when so many people are using them legitimately.
Jessie
Sorry to hear you are all having trouble with Target. I have 2 Targets close by that I use (northern NJ) and have always had things go smoothly, even to the point of the cashiers complimenting me on my “smart shopping” when they see how much I save. Hope this new policy won’t cause that to change.

I would also like that guest services # I am only a year into this coupon thing and have done very well. I am trying to hold a coupon class and want to attach this info with their coupon policy.

I just used the coupon on the 5.99 beach towels and I have to say I think it is a better deal anyway because of the quality. The dollar spot towels do not look like they will wash well at all.. so 3.99 for a good quality beach towel is a good deal to me!

Target does accept returns with out your reciept, as long as you provide the debit/credit card you used for payment. They can scan the item you are returning, swipe your card, and see the whole transaction that item was purchased on. I have had to return many items that way and I never have a problem. I usually also ask for the cash back instead of having the money put back onto my card because that can take up to two weeks with a debit card. If you pay for your items with cash, then you must have your reciept with you in order to return the item
Katie
Target will only accept 2 retunrs a year with out a receipt, no matter what the payment method is. Rebecca is right about the card thing, which does come in handy when the item you are returning is on sale, and you paid more, b/c you will get the price you paid for it. But they are sopposed to enter your ID info when you return without a receipt b/c they only allow 2 a year, and it has to be less than $50.
I have returened Revlon makeup to Target b/c the register wouldnt take my manufacterers coupons AND target coupons for it. I returned it my next trip to Target, which happened to be a differant Target, so sometimes, it really isn’t people trying to make money off the store. I didn’t want the product bad enought to have paid the price after I realized both coupons didn’t take. If they subtracted coupons from refunds, they would make money off of you, so it goes both ways I guess.
Rhonda
I returned 2 items to Target last week WITHOUT a receipt. Cashier said that wasnt a problem and handed me a gift card for the balance which was OVER $50. I don’t shop Target often only because it is about 1 hr from my house.
Katie
this is from the Target website:
Don’t have your receipt?
In most instances, Target stores can verify purchases made on a credit/debit card, check or GiftCard using our Refund Look-up system.
Target does allow a limited amount of no receipt refunds or exchanges for guests that don’t have a recieipt.
All other returns or exchanges, including those without a receipt, will be offered manufacturers’ warranty and repair assistance at 1-800-303-0308.
Maybe my target is the only one that follows policy, b/c I know it is 2 times a year, and only under $50.

I’m curious to hear if anyone has had success with this. I’m going to have to go to Target tonight to pick up prescriptions. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to print this coupon, though, b/c my printer is out of ink…

I’m definitely getting sick and tired of dealing with the pushback from Target on coupons. I went last week to do the band-aid deal and had a manufacturer’s coupon and a Target coupon. BOTH coupons stated ANY band-aid product. I had 2 boxes of band-aids and two of each kind of coupon. Well, both beeped and the cashier pushed the manufacturer one through and refused the Target one saying she already pushed one through and it was obviously the wrong product. Um, which party of ANY wasn’t clear. So, I paid and went to customer service and they gave me the extra $ back in cash. But, geeeeez, what a pain. And this happens way too often there. I stick to Walgreen’s and CVS for most of my deals any more.

I too was only able to print one coupon for the beach towel. The cashier was trying to tell me the coupon was for other beach towels besides the one in the dollar section. I asked her to show me were it says that and she could not so she allowed it to go through. I felt a problem coming on but it did’nt. I have to say lately I run into problems almost at every store with print at home coupons but I will not give up. Have a good day every one….
sara
Used it yesterday no problems… although I will say she DID read them closely. (never have done this before) Boo on the stupid people being unethical
Kelly
I bought 3 today with no problem!
Sabrina
Yay! I bought of the towels tonight for 50 cents! I went straight to customer service for check out, though, and said I wanted to check out there b/c of all the problems with coupons and she didn’t say anything about the towel.
Kelly, how were you able to get 3?
Anyhow, I also bought the bop it *handheld* game using the Hasbro mafr and Target coupon (this was suggested on another blog, since the coupon doesn’t say it can’t be travel size). So the customer service rep said that the second coupon beeped and said you couldn’t use two coupons on the same item. I said well one is mfr and one is Target, she said I know, but it still says that. I said, well Target policy says one mfr and one Target coupon will be accepted per item. She said, I know, but that’s why you have problems with the cashiers. She accepted it and I got the bop it handheld game for $1.99 after both coupons!
Sarah
I agree with the people who said they’d rather spend more on a better towel. Those 2.50 towels are crap… Only had a pink one at my store, so I skipped it.
I’ve done several of the bandaid deals this week and last week. At two targets the manf coupon beeps and the target coupon worked fine. At a super target, both worked fine. Both times the cashier pushed them through when they beeped. She said Bandaid coupons NEVER work. Probably because the UPC on the coupon doesn’t match up with the UPC on the boxes.. Dunno why that is. I bought several different types, regular, sheer, kids, etc and they all beeped at the two non-super targets. I’ve used them at Wags no problem. Target is rather weird on their coupons though. They must not program them all or something. However that works… Even with the Free Vitamin Water coupons.. It prompts for a price, she enters 1.02 and it says not found?! But it prompted for a price first? Odd.
You’ve just got to learn which stores are worth it, which cashiers to skip and when to stand your ground. I don’t mind looking like a fool to the people behind me… I’ll never see them again, and I’m saving money. Why not stand up and teach the cashiers how to do their job?! ;)

I went to Target tonight and was able to get several of the towels for $.50 each. The coupon beeped, but the cashier pushed it through and stated to me that the coupon doesn’t specify a particular kind of beach towel, so the coupon was valid. The store manager just happened to be walking by when the chashier was pushing the coupon through, stopped to look at what she was doing, and after looking at the coupon and towel, stated “Well that’s an awesome deal. I am going to have to print out a few of those coupons tonight and get some towels for myself”. I guess it all depends on your particular target.
I also had the solar light coupons with me, but at our target they were $4.99 each, so I didn’t get any. They are a cheap plastic kind (which is fine considering the price after coupon) but where we live the ground is very hard and rocky, so there would be no way to get these into the ground without breaking them. Even the silver and bronze ones were cheap plastic.
siobhan
The towel deal did not work for me, she said its for the $5+ towels. But I agree the dollar spot ones were so junky it was not worth it anyways!
StephieD
The coupon isn’t coming up for me at all now… :(
Tara
My Target wouldn’t let me use the towel coupon either… said it was for just the “regular” towels, not the dollar spot towels. I could have pushed the issue, but I didn’t really care about the towel that much, and my 14 month old was ready to get out of there. What a pain though…. if it doesn’t qualify, they need to list the restrictions on the coupon!
MichelleWhit
No coupon listed under the home category for me either (although I’m VERY new to this) Just the pillow, bedding, rug, ottoman, outdoor patio, plates and solor light. Help?
Becky
I saw the coupon on there this morning, went to print it and it said that I had already printed the maximum amount. I have not printed ANY Target coupons in weeks. I think they have taken the coupon off.
Kristen
I was able to do the dollar towel deal (the cashier read the coupon very carefully and then checked the tag on the towel.) She even split the towels as the coupon states “one per transaction”. Had the same issues with the $3 off band-aid and Neosporin coupon. The cashier read everything VERY carefully then pushed it through.
I have been having problems everywhere EXCEPT at CVS when using coupons!!
katie
I had a problem using the Gillette $4 off 2 body wash coupons yesterday at Target. The washes are $1.79, and when I asled the VERY NICE cashier to adjust the value to equal the amount of the two washes, she called somebody over to ask her how to do that. That lady told me they are not allowed to do that anymore, so I didnt get them , and I email Target. This was my reply, and I hope you all program the number in your phones, and that it’s helpful for you!!
Thanks for taking the time to ask us about any changes to our coupon policy.
We haven’t had any changes to our coupon policy. You can use one manufacturer’s and one store coupon per item unless either coupon prohibits it. If the price of the coupon exceeds the price of the product, the cashier should adjust the price on coupon to reflect the price of the item.
I called the Evans store and spoke to Ann today. She was sorry to hear of the trouble you had using these coupons, and said she would talk to the other front end leads.
If you have any problem in the future, please give us a call from the store at the number shown below. We’d be happy to assist you with this. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Central Time.
We look forward to showing you what’s new at Target.
Paula
Katie thanks for the information…. I think you forgot to enter the phone number.
