Cliff, I would call Walgreens customer service. Since they’ve discontinued the Easy Saver Rebates, I’m not sure how they’re processing the final rebates.

The last trip I made they layed out and checked all of my RRs to make sure I was not using them to buy the same item. It didn’t really make sense though because they automatically don’t print if that is the case. Other then that, I have had no problems with using RRs to purchase other items with RRs.

So I’ve been a long time Walgreen’s ESR-er and stack coupons, RRs, rebates, etc. I’ve gotten lots of great things for free over the years, and generally don’t have issues. However, I’m extremely disappointed that ESR is being cancelled and the RR program seems to be ramping up. I went on my Sunday rounds, got the free after RR stuff and stuff with coupons, and then, upon presenting my coupons and RRs from last week, was told that if I pay with an RR, I won’t get any. I asked since when and was told that policy had been in place for about 2 weeks (this is all from a cashier I’ve never seen before). So, I split my order and and paid separately OOP for the items that I would get RRs for. But here’s the thing: I’ve been to Wags about 4 times in the previous 2 weeks and got RRs even if paying with one like I always did before (I don’t use RRs to buy RR-generating products from the same manufacturer). So, do you or anyone know if this is in fact a change? If so, I’m super upset and will probably call corporate and complain.

Hi Anon! The scrunchis were a weekly deal and would have ended on Saturday, 4/18. If you purchased them on 4/20, the RRs would not print on them.

Okay I’m slightly confused about the RR’s. I bought two products today that had RR’s (the chapstick & scrunchis) and paid with a previous RR from the Skintimate deal & with a credit card for the balance. Only one of the RR’s printed (the chapstick). The cashier and the manager told me it was because I paid with an RR. Is this correct? Can you buy more than one product in a transaction that will print an RR?

No problem, Kristin. If the RRs were generated from a different deal, they should be okay to pay with. To be safe, I generally try to use RRs produced from deals with different manufacturers because occasionally there’s some overlap.

Can I buy a product with RRs from a different transaction and type of product and still get the RRs coming for that product? For instance, I am buying a toothbrush that has $3 RRs but am paying with RRs from a different transaction when I bought toothpaste. Will I still get the RRs for the toothbrush?

Hope someone can answer my question. Went to Walgreens today and purchased an item that was $5.99 with a rebate of $2 making it (eventually) $3.99. I used a $3.50 RR (catalina) to pay for my purchase. And the other $2.49 I payed with a credit card. The employees at Walgreens said they thought I might not get my rebate because I didn’t pay the $3.99 with my own money but does anyone know if I’ll get my whole rebate? I would be really disappointed if I forfeited it by using my RR. RR ought to be the equivalent of cash since I used cash to pay for the item I got the RR for.

Ok, today I went to use my RR that exp 3/30/09. I went thru the circular and made my list:
2/$5 Chewy Granola Bars w/$2 RR
$1.99 Chapstick LipBalm w/$1.99RR
$3.99 Bic Disposables w/$1 instntCP
2/$3 Pringles
Approx. OOP 13.98 Before Savings
- RR 4.00
- Manuf CP 1.00 Granola Bars
- Manuf CP 2.00 Bic Disp
- Manuf CP 1.00 Pringles
- Walgrns CP 1.00 Bic Disp
Expctd Total 4.98 Aft Savgs

However, when I went to check out I was told I could not use my RR with the coupons.

What did I do wrong?

Thanks for the tip, Ross. This does seem to be becoming a trend, so if your stores seem to be pretty well stocked on sale items, you may want to consider holding off your purchases until Thursday to see if a new coupon is released.

Im realativly new to the Walgreens rebates, but wanted to share a tip. For the last 3 months Ive noticed a trend. The last 2 days of the Easy Saver catelog overlap with the first 2 days of the next month’s. This has occured on a Fri and Sat. These 2 days also have had the $5 off $20 or $10 off $40 internet coupons. What this means is on these days there are more Free After Rebates items to push your total up so you can capitalize using the internet coupons.

Happy to help out! Tina, fillers are inexpensive items that you add to your purchase to get it up to a certain subtotal. An example of when you might need to do this is when you need to meet a certain threshold in order to use a coupon. Say you have a $5 off $25 coupon, but your purchase only comes to $24.56, then you could toss in a pack of gum or an inexpensive sample item to bring your total above $25.

Tina- you don’t have to mess with that page. I just skip to the page where you enter in your receipt, and I punch in the numbers, and it will automatically tally it for you. I enter in all my receipts, just to be sure that I don’t miss something. Then I get an email a few days later with the summary of what I was eligible for.
