I filled out a comment on-line at Walgreens. Yesterday the manager from my local store called me. He did say that you should be able to use a mq and still get the RR. Of course he and I went round and round at first b/c he kept saying you couldn't use a RR to get another RR. I did ask if I came back in with my coupons that I wasn't allowed to use if they would take them now and he told me he would try. I think I'll just wait and see if next weeks ad looks as good.

It looks like there are A Lot of comments about the RR's and Q's. I must say it all depends on the store and the people. I spent an hour or more figuring out how to do the 5/25 best...my scenario included diapers. But then they were out at the first store of some other things and so I had to scramble to make the 5/25 work...I ended up paying 23 oop but got the lotion and diaper RR and some others (I got all I was owed, and used mq's just didn't do the figuring right in the store) Frustrated I went to the only other Walgreens in my small town who was also out of the razors. This store was awesome!!!!!!!!!! They had an entire endcap with all the free items...Still wish I had seen your post first.... With store #1 and #2 I paid 41 oop - after all RR's total cost was $17 I did about 15 transactions all together and the Cashier actually helped me figure out which RR's to use so that I would still get an RR, and actually used the word FILLER when I needed a little more. Also I new which RR's rolled (herbal essence)...but I blew all my q's and now that I've seen your post I wish I had just one more Sunday paper !

Took my $5/$25 to 3 stores, got to the register with all the items and all my coupons. 2 stores wouldn't use the $5/$25 saying that your total has to be $25.00 or more AFTER all your coupons are used, as the coupon stated. 3rd store rang in the $5/$25 as my FIRST coupon and didn't give my any trouble and then deducted all my regular coupons. Go figure! It just seems to be hit or miss with Walgreeens. Also, I used coupons on many of the RR items and all of my RR printed out just fine, I'm in St. Louis.

Awesome! I went this morning before they were out of everything and made $6.58 PROFIT on my purchase! I love the look on the cashier's face when the RR's just keep printing out:)

Someone asked earlier about using the RR at Jewel Osco... Yes you can! I have and it is wonderful!!! It's actually a good idea to always use the RR at Jewel instead of at Walgreens so that you don't accidentally use the RR to pay for a transaction that includes an item that earns a RR. Reason I say this, is because if you do use a RR to pay, you will not get the next RR.

I just started doing Walgreen's since I have one close to me now and it seems that their RR's expire pretty fast. A lot faster than ECB's at CVS. Has anybody else noticed that? Does anybody know if they'll take expired ones?

good scenario IF they have everything in stock but I'd rather make more smaller purchases to roll the RR than be stuck with $29 in RR --

i also had the same thing happen to me today but... i bought 1 razor with the qp, got an RR... got a Vaseline with QP got an RR, next I tried it again... and guess what.. no RRs for both item. MY store manager went back and gave me the $6.99 + $6.00 on a gift card. this was great however I was stumped because all my transactions and my game plan was screwed from that point on. I got home and i felt like maybe some of my other items may not have printed an RR. To sum it all up I got everything that was free after RRs -
Halls, dentek, toothbrushes, gillette, vaseline, chapstick, Emergency-C, Robitussin DM, got all these itemsTWICE. Plus, 1 herbal essence, 2 ponds creams, 2 Trop50, 2 ivory soap packs (packs of 3 ), 2 packs of english muffins, and Filler items : 4 buterball chicken broth, 1 can tomato sauce, I spent $15.00 plus change (cash OOP). Now I know I got a good deal for all these items HOWEVER, i used RR's for all these transactions + Manuf QPs so i started losing track at some point if i got all my RRs since I kept rolling them over.....Ugh! It was just alot of work this time and I came home with $11 in RR's. Again, I know I got a good deal since my OOp was much less then the items are actually worht but i just hate that WAlgreens is changng something in the system, it makes it much difficult for those whore are buying more items on one trip. I don't like to have to come back because it seems when I do everything is gone. I hear also from the Employees that they buy alot of the items themselves especially since they have the 15% discount everything is pretty much a money maker for them on the free arfetr RR items, so when the deals come out they snag a good portion. So in mys tore you are not only competing with other customers for the itmes, aslo with the staff. I had the manager tell me yesterday that I got the last 2 gillettes, and his look was of disappointment. I kept having to ask him for Halls also and he kept taking the big box of stock back to the back, and would not put them on the shelves either, as with the robitussisn. Maybe he was saving for the next shift change to grab their share.

Is it possible for them to program all their catalina machines differently. Yesterday I went to 2 different Wags and used coupons on all my products and gott all my RR's......and the cashiers are all great. I feel so lucky!! In fact my normal CVS has a new manager and he has been so unpleasant, I don't like going there anymore!!

By the way, I usually use my RR's for my newspapers(4) to eat them up when they are no great deals!!

Ashley, you should tell corp that if this is true, then they are guilt of false advertising because in this past Sunday's ad it plainly states that additional coupon savings are in most Sunday papers right under the razors that are on sale and giving the register rewards. Not only is this illegal but poor in taste on Walgreens behalf. I understand that some people misuse the RR system, but for people like me who actually only get 1 of each deal, it is completely unfair!

I'm still sooooo MAD about this...When did the policy change? After my last bad trip to Wags I may never go back if this is the way it is!!! Does it generate a RR if you use a RR to purchase a different item, because RR are a man. coupon!!! This is all sooooo STUPID!!

I called corporate and they told me that if you use a manufacturer's coupon when purchasing an item that is supposed to generate a RR it will not print. She also told me that how RR are used is really up to each store's manager. For those of you who were able to use a coupon and still get a RR that's great. I guess I'll have to get more creative next week and see if I can have more success.

I went to Walgreen's last week and purchased some of the RR reward deals - the roots of nature hair care product (they didn't have a label for that with the RRs), carefree item, and toothbrushes, plus a couple sharpies on clearance for .25. The person looked like a manager who rang me up and he mentioned he didn't think the RRs would print up for the carefree item since I had the coupon with it, I just figured we'd see since I paid less than $2.00 OOP (with other register rewards - $5 for the One-A-Day drink mixes and $2.50 for the thermapatch I got from another Walgreens earlier). Well, they did all print out - $6 for the Roots of Nature, $2 for the Carefree (they must not like to make them $1.99), & $2 for the toothbrushes. I was happy they did and I think he was a little surprised.

It seems like a ton of people were told they couldn't use coupons and still get a RR today!! .It even happened to me at store I don't shop at alot. I already know this is not true in my area so voided my whole transaction. Turns out their Catalina system went down nationwide for a bit this afternoon when they tried to fix the oral-B toothbrush RR. I felt bad because the Asst Mgr was trying to tell a newbie couple that they couldn't use q's and get the RR's also. I tried to tell them quietly this wasn't true but they looked a bit confused. I wish they wouldn't tell this mfg Q/RR story when they're just ignorant to the actual situation.

Manager was sooooo rude .
I don't know why Walgreens treat custmer so nasty when we try to use coupons.
I agree with Raurie, I love shop at CVS.

Today when I went to Walgreens I tried to do multiple transactions to get the different deals and use my RR right away. It took some time and some fillers but my cashier was patient and helpful... the thing she told me (sorta makes sense) is that if you get a P&G RR (says on the bottom of the coupon), you can't use it to buy more p&G stuff. Also you can't use a RR for sales tax. So for instance, my subtotal was 3.44 and my $3 RR wouldnl't work. I added some dawn dish soap for .99 for a filler and then my RR worked. I hope I wasn't scammed - but always need dish soap! And had a .25 coupon for that anyway.

One other thing-- I used the coupon from a P&G mailer for $5 off an olay body wash when you buy a venus razor system (7.99 in the ad). Had to get the big body wash (was on the shelf for 8.99 but rang up 5.50) for it to work, and got 4 RR. Later I realized I probably could've used a coupon for the razor as well. The coupon I got in the mailer was a little confusing, but it's for free body wash, not for $5 off the razor, so a razor coupon could have worked. oh well, next time! And maybe some of you can benefit. :)

None of the RRs were labeled on the shelves. Is that normal? The girl told me they didn't label them but I'm pretty sure I've seen them stickered before... and a lot of the sales prices weren't marked on the shelves either. Maybe someone just falling down on the job.

Coupon roulette! you never know what you're gonna get.

I am so lucky here in NC! I NEVER have these issues at Wags. I use coupons for every item I buy (if I have one) and pay with RR's and receive all my RR's due. The cashiers are very nice too.

Some of the registers have apparently been "rigged" (couldn't think of a better word!) to not print a RR if you are just buying that item with a coupon. In other words, if I just buy the Vaseline and use the $1.50 Q it may not print out the RR. BUT, if I buy the Vaseline, and something else I am going to use a coupon with (plus a filler so I can use an RR) it should print out the RR b/c it doesn't "know" what you used the coupon for. Does that make sense? Hope it helps.

From now on I always buy more than one item so I always get my RR. And yes, both my stores have told me I can only use 1 RR per transaction. But I still manage to get good deals. Not sure if it is corporate or just the stores.

Thanks for your answer Tara.. Im going to be asking another manager from the more friendly store re: using more than one RR at a time as I was told it was not permitted by 2 managers of one store..
And yes, you made perfect sense concerning the number of coupons (including RRs) must be equal to or less than the number of items purchased and the $$ amount.
I appreciate your help! :D

Today, I had a very hard time with 2 Walgreens in the Ft. Lauderdale area. At one, I was only allowed to use one manufacturers coupon per item, and one register rewards coupon towards my whole transaction--I couldn't use all my RR coupons. PLUS, the cashier said since I used a MF coupon on the items, my NEW RR wouldn't print out because of it! I wrote Walgreens a long letter, and will let you know their response. It's really not a "reward" if they limit how many of your own rewards you can use. It's also false advertising if they say you will get an RR, and it doesn't print out. CVS is so fair--you can use as many extra bucks as you have saved up, plus use MF coupons, plus you always get the EB back for the week. Walgreens will never compare to CVS if they don't do the same! :o)

I'm not sure why so many people are being told lately that their RRs won't print if they use a coupon, but this has never been the policy, and as far as I know it has not changed. Walgreens customer service is very responsive, so I recommend contacting them so they can clear up the store's misconceptions.
