Do It Yourself Giveaway: $100 Home Depot Gift Card

by Tara Kuczykowski on December 22, 2008 · 1,303 comments

gingerbread_man_cardHome Depot is my favorite store to shop at for DIY projects, and we’ve often purchased Home Depot gift cards for our family members because it’s a fun and easy gift idea. After all, they have something for everyone!

Home Depot gift cards are a great idea for the do-it-herself-ers and handymen on your gift lists, and if you’re scrambling for some last minute ideas, this is a great solution! This year The Home Depot has 17 holiday gift card styles to choose from, including a scratch-n-sniff gingerbread man that can be decorated with stickers and a card that looks and feels like it is covered with the handyman’s wrapping paper – duct tape.

Maybe a gift card is too impersonal for you and you’re still struggling to come up with new holiday gift ideas? This year, leave the sweaters and fruit baskets behind and get the do-it-yourselfer in your life a selection of great tools, which can be affordable and practical gifts that last for years and never go out of style. The Home Depot offers hundreds of tools and home improvement products ensuring that you’ll find appropriate gifts for the new homeowner, weekend warrior or experienced pro. Featured in the photos below are the new Ryobi® Lithium-Ion 4 Piece 12V Kit (Price: $149, SKU 285-630) and the new Makita 10.8V Li-Ion 2 Piece Cordless Combo Kit (Price: $179, SKU 637-212).

Wow we really need this! We have a hot wheel that the plumber could not get out, so our guest/powder room toilet has been out of service for months and months now. Also, we used some touch up paint to touch up.. and it was the wrong shade. So now we have all of down stairs to repaint! Great right? :)

2 Jenni December 28, 2008 at 2:39 pm

I’d use it towards finishing our basement….for bathroom fixtures!

thanks!

I would also want 2 large burners for our stove. I’m sick and tired of using this old thing that only has 2 out of 4 burners that work!

If I won, I would spend some of the money on organizational item, like shelves but most of it I would give to my husband to buy tools. He has been so good. He got up and when shopping this morning even though he was not feeling well. He just started graduate school, so we don’t have a lot of money for things like tools. He always working on cars, it’s his hobby so I would give it to him to buy tools.

I need to replace worn out window shades and repair some drains. It’s scary how fast that card would get used up. (Of course, I also need to paint, and re-seed the lawn. The foundation may have a problem, but $100 gift card wont’ touch that, I’m sure.)
