A reader wrote in to tell me that he found the single Atkins bars at his CVS buy one get one free.
If your local store is running the same sale, this makes for a moneymaker with the ExtraCare Bucks promotion that’s running through Saturday.
Atkins Endulge Bars, $1.69 (BOGO)
Buy $12 get $5 ECBs (limit 2)
$1/2 Atkins Single Bar, exp. 3-31-09 (SS #2 1/4/09)
$1/2 Atkins printable
$1/1 Atkins printable Teal Quick Print on Right Sidebar
$1/2 Atkins printable (IE)
$1/2 Atkins printable (FF)
Buy 8 Endulge Bars at BOGO
Use (4) $1/2 coupons
Profit of $2.24 after coupons and ECBs!
Even if your store isn’t doing the BOGO sale, they would still only $1.76 for 8 after coupons and ECBs, so that’s still a good deal if you like these bars.

What’s teal quickprint?
OK, I figured that out. Now, are they tagged BOGO, or is it just ringing up that way and you need to buy a couple before you figure out whether they are?

In my sidebar under the Printable Coupons heading is a teal-colored widget. You can print coupons.com coupons directly from it. :)

Hmm, my reader didn’t mention if they were marked on the shelf or not. Maybe he’ll see this and comment!
If they are Bogo, then the total will be under $12, right? You would only have 4 X 1.69 =6.76 to ring up.
CVS’ registers deduct the BOGO at the end of the receipt, so buying 8 is enough to get you over the $12 minimum and trigger the ECBs to print.
Thanks! You can teach an old dog new tricks!!!!!!
I was planning on getting some anyway. Thanks!!
I did this deal today, although mine weren’t b1g1. I also got zone bars and Gillete Razor with OOP. I posted about it here: http://thecouponhigh.blogspot.com/2009/03/my-coupon-high-trip-to-cvs-100-savings.html.
Okay, question about B1G1 deals. How does that work if you have a $/$$ coupon? I’ve always been scared to try it. Does the second “free” item count towards my total or not? Like if I had a $3/$15…. Could I buy the 8 Atkins bars and then $1.50 worth of other stuff to reach $15, or would the subtotal be only half that due to the sale?
It should work on the price before the free items are deducted, but your total can’t be negative after everything is deducted.
