I’m so happy to share that I’ll now be highlighting Publix each week courtesy of Jenny at Southern Savers!
This store is not local to me, so she was kind enough to share the coupon policy with me.
1. You do not have to buy 2 of the BOGO items to get the sale price
2. If you do buy 2 items that are BOGO make sure you use 2 coupons to get the best deal
3. Publix accepts competitors’ coupons (you can stack with a manufacturers coupon and at some stores a Publix coupon too!)
4. You can use a store coupon and a manufacturer’s coupon on the same item
5. Most Publix locations double manufacturer coupons that are $0.50 or less
**1 & 5 do not apply to many areas in Florida**

what a great blog, thanks for all the great info. so i have a few questions, i am new to all this stuff. first is when you sign up for the free samples, how many times can you enter for a free sample. i think i might have done it twice on one of them because i forgot which ones i had signed up for……
second is can you use several different coupons for the same product if the coupon doesnt say ‘do not double’ ??? so much to learn !! thanks cara

Yea! I am so glad you are highlighting Publix ads. I have been doing my own coupon matching, but it’s nice to have it done for me :) They have really good sales that match well with the coupons. Thanks!

Hey! Love me some Publix! ;) They are awesome about coupons & have even been known to take the CVS $/$$ coupons.
Also, FYI: Most areas that have Publix also have Winn Dixie and WD typically has the $10 off a $50 or $75 purchase catalines for the following week (which of course is before coupons and you can stack as long as your total is as much as the combined amt of the total purchase listed on the coupons. So if your pre-coupon total was over $65, you could use the WD $10/$50 and a CVS $3/$15).
Not sure if it is still going on, but some non-Florida (guess where I am , ha!) locations have weekly penny items and sometimes (all locations I think) they’ll run a “buy theirs, get ours free” promo.
They also have their own flyer with coupons about once a month or so in the paper with regualr coupon inserts and extra flyers are available in the store. Also about once every month or two (maybe spread out more), they’ll have a 2 page ad in the coupon inserts with store coupons.
Publix has a Baby Club which has coupons for free products and sends various coupons regular for the first 12-18 months. These are store coupons and can be stacked with manu coupons.
You can subscribe (I think you have to be in states that have a Publix) to their family magazine which has a page of pretty good coupons in each issue. Magazines w/o coupons are available in the store.
I’m sure Jenny has lots of Publix info for ya, just mentioning what’s on top of my head as you get started (and not being local to Publix). If I think of any other random info, I’ll pass it along, LOL! :)

Cara, usually samples are one per household. If you do it twice, a lot of times they just throw out the duplicates.
As far as coupon doubling, that doesn’t have any bearing on how many coupons you use. Some stores double coupons up to a certain amount. So if you have a $0.50 coupon and a store doubles it, they will take $1 off the item. There are only a few instances where you’d be able to use more than one coupon on a single item such as when you’re using a store coupon and a manufacturer’s coupon on one item.
Thanks so much for those fabulous tips, Christy!

So glad you are highlighting Publix. Like you posted – I live in Florida and they do not double coupons (bummer). Also, you have to purhcase both items on BOGO to get it the sale price since you are charged for both, and then one item is deducted. For prices like 2/$5 you do not have to purchase both. My mom works for Publix Corporate offices in Lakeland, Florida and I told her about the doubling of coupons. She thinks that is awesome and is going to ask some higher ups why it is not done in Florida.
