Eleanor, rest assured, it’s not cheating. You can sign up to get a code for a free rental from redbox every Monday via text message. They even tell you in the text message to share it with your friends. If you have a messaging service go to redbox.com and sign up.

I am signed up to receive the free codes also and there was a problem with this code, I called their customer service and they gave me a new code and since I paid for my rental a second free code both valid for 45 days. They have great customer service!
