I am trying to figure this out. Looks great until I realized you bought 9 items and used 16 coupons. This won’t work. Or am I missing something?

2 Bethany September 25, 2008 at 10:35 pm

I am pretty sure I have $1 off any Rimmel product from the September All You Magazine as well…just in case someone doesn’t have the one for the face product! I didn’t get that one! :P

3 Deal Seeking Mom September 25, 2008 at 10:36 pm

Hmm, I’ve never had a problem with it. Can’t you use one manufacturer and one Walgreens coupon per item? Maybe someone else will stop by that can answer definitively.

4 Deal Seeking Mom September 25, 2008 at 10:45 pm

I wanted to be sure I was giving everyone correct information so I did a search on it, and I came up with this on SlickDeals. It says that you can usually use one Walgreens and one manufacturer coupon per item, so if that’s true then this deal should work!

5 Hopefulone September 25, 2008 at 10:52 pm

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
I had one brain cell left tonight (Life/kids, ya know)
and that lonely brain cell just never would have come up with this:)
Off tomorrow-wish me luck!

Yes you can use 2 coupons per item if they are store and manuf. but what Christie is referring to is that the Walgreens registers are set up
so that you have to have the same amount of items as coupons. The register will say “coupon limit exceded” I have tried it many different ways and always comes up the same way…

But also the IVC you only need to use one and it automaticly takes off the $$ for each item bought. So you have a total of 13 coupons and 9 items so you would need to throw in 4 cheap items without coupons to do this deal.
Hope it helps!!!

I did some research on Nichole’s comments above, and they say on Hot Coupon World that IVRs and weekly flyer coupons don’t count towards the coupon to item ratio. However, her and I chatted about it on Twitter, and she said that they do count at her store, so I guess it’s a YMMV thing. I did find some suggestions for cheap filler items to add if you need to have an even ratio of coupons to items. Look for single pencils or Walgreens brand pocket packs of tissues. Both are cheap and ultimately necessary items to round out your transactions!

Hey Tara… I cudnt find the rebate for pert in the sept ESR.

10 Deal Seeking Mom September 26, 2008 at 8:35 am

Oops, I forgot to mention, Tina, that it was a rebate that they extended from August. It’s not listed in the paper catalog, but it’s in the online version.

11 Melanie September 26, 2008 at 8:53 am

I also cannot find the Pert in the Sept ESR. I went online and looked for it and could not find it.

12 John September 26, 2008 at 9:00 am

The Pert rebate for Sept is only seen on the receipt submission page. It is #43 on the claim form:

Up to $4.29 off Pert Plus 2in1 RAINCHECK

Also repeated for Sept is:

Up to $5.99 off Living Solutions Bags RAINCHECK
and
Up to $9.99 off Living Solutions Bags RAINCHECK

13 Deal Seeking Mom September 26, 2008 at 9:00 am

If you actually login to the online submission form, it’s listed as #43. I see they added the wording “raincheck” next to it, but I’m pretty sure anyone can submit for it based on what I’ve read about them extending rebates in the past.

I couldn’t find the coupon for Rimmel products in the 9-14 RP but I did find one in the 8-24 RP. Not sure if it was an area difference cause I’m in MI

15 Andrea September 26, 2008 at 11:40 am

Tara – since we talked about my non-coupon friendly store on twitter last night, the thing I always do is just throw in a few fillers b/c my store register beeps at me too (I’m thinking I need to find a new “home” store… :-) . But, since there are a few FREE after rebate items for October, those could be the fillers too and you’ll get paid.

16 Christie September 26, 2008 at 12:00 pm

Well, I went and did the deal today. Nicole, you’re right. The IVC’s take off for multiple items from one coupon. So, I found a couple filler items on the clearance isle. Ziploc bags were 44-88 cents/box! Great fillers because I use them anyways! Thanks for the help.

17 Jen C. September 26, 2008 at 12:29 pm

A good filler this week if you need to up the number of items to match coupons is the Halloween Pencils with the in ad coupon at $.10 per pencil, limit 20.

I may have to use the coupon tonight, although I am a little upset that my store did not print out my RR earlier in the week. The cashier told me I couldn’t get a RR if I used a RR. I have an email into Customer Service as I couldn’t stick around. I know I can’t roll 1 RR into a transaction to get the same RR, but anyone have the policy on using 1 (for Crest Pro-Health) and receiving another (for Reach)?

18 jennie w September 26, 2008 at 2:35 pm

Can you call out for me what RR are earned in this transaction? Just so I know in case they don’t print (which happens a lot!)

Thanks for working out a great deal!

19 Deal Seeking Mom September 26, 2008 at 2:50 pm

Actually, these are all rebate items, so there’s no need to worry about RRs not printing! :D

20 D&W September 26, 2008 at 5:17 pm

A question (and maybe I’ve missed this). Will WAGs let you use the same receipt for both September and October ESRs?

21 Euphrasie September 26, 2008 at 7:58 pm

D&W, Yes you can use the same receipt for both months. I did that last month, and I just entered my receipt from today on both.

Also, just an FYI for everyone, when I entered by receipt, I noticed they’ve added the Nivea for Men and Lypsyl to the October rebate list.

22 Kim September 26, 2008 at 11:45 pm

Jen, I did this exact deal where I used my crest mouthwash RR to pay for the Reach floss and the $5 RR printed just fine both times I did it. I would call customer service. Maybe their machine was really out of paper or something.

23 KCB September 27, 2008 at 10:39 am

You can use a RR to pay for something that generated a RR as long as the RR you are using wasn’t for the same item.

Like you can’t buy Crest mouthwash and pay with a $4.50 RR that you got from buying it before. If you do, a new RR won’t print.

24 Alisha September 27, 2008 at 6:38 pm

If you look at the Register Rewards it says something about limit one per transaction or something like that. My local walgreens said that if you pay with a register rewards the register automatically cancels out the new one you should receive – regardless of what you bought the first time around. Hope this helps.
